Swarovskinspirational

Matthew Williamson created his first accessory collection in collaboration with Atelier Swarovski for Spring 2010. Williamson, while creating his collection of crystal cuffs, breastplate necklaces, evening clutches and all the geometric form of accessories, inspired by the contemporary visual artist Jim Lambie, who is known with his brightly coloured tapes and using them, creating geometrical shapes & patterns.

Jim Lambie was born in 1964, Glasgow, Scotland and a graduate from Glasgow School of Art. He lives and works in Glasgow, and also operates as a musician and DJ. Lambie specialises in colourful sculptural installations made from everyday modern materials including pop culture objects, such as posters and album covers, and household accessories.

The other trademark theme in his artistic practice is using brightly coloured vinyl tape arranged into patterns around the floor of the gallery space, tracing the shape of the room to reveal the idiosyncrasies of its architecture.

And the collection results in large, geometrical, shiny and colourful accessories.

Atelier Swarovski also worked with Zaha Hadid (zigzag-shaped rings), Jason Wu (sculptural necklaces) and Nicholas Kirkwood to create exclusive crystal jewelry and accessories. Past designer collaborations have included Christopher Kane, Doo.Ri Chung, Hussein Chalayan, Giles Deacon, Proenza Schouler, Rodarte, and Philip Crangi.

Cute Cole

Cute model Cole Mohr poses for the French Twist Magazine's Spring 2010 issue. Photographed by the photographer Sune Czajkowski, styling by Birgitte Mahrt and hair by Terry Saxon. We loved the gold lamelled piece, Birgitte Mahrt used.
