Collection is created from barbie doll parts in combination of sterling silver and pigmented resins.  The designer of this collection is Margaux Lange whose desire is to re-purpose mass produced materials into handmade, wearable art.

Margaux Lange received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2001, where her Plastic Body Series was first conceived.This Fine Arts education, gave her the foundation for conceptual exploration in her jewelry work. And a childhood obsession of her dolls, added the creativity and resulted in a beautiful collection.

Margaux has been creating in this series and exhibiting for nearly 10 years now. Her jewelry has been published in numerous books and has garnered international press coverage in the world's top art, fashion and design magazines.

You Won't Forget Una Burke!

Una burke, born in Galway, 1980, is a London College of Fashion MA graduate fashion designer who had her own conceptual  collection of wearable art, based on eight human gestures associated with the cause, physical and psycological effect and healing stages of human trauma.

Each piece is hand crafted from vegetable tanned leather, resulting in a color indicative of human flesh.

They can be used as fashion accessories when broken down into sections; such as arm pieces, leg pieces, head or neck pieces and shoulder pieces.

They also can be combined with other garments, different kind of fabrics or accessories which could create a different aspect or even a beautiful contrast look.

And she says "Through my work I continually aim to create leather objects which are both visually captivating and technically challenging. They are pieces of wearable art which are indefinable as particular garments, preventing them from being placed into the conventional categories of the fashion industry."

Dotsessive Artist : Yayoi Kusama

It seems that Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama has an obsession about dots. Her paintings;

collages;

soft sculptures;

performance art;

and environmental installations;

all has one thing in common and these works are obsessed with repetition, pattern and accumulation. She also describes herself as an obsessive artist.

Yayoi Kusama's work is based in conceptual art. Early in her career, she began covering surfaces such as walls, floors, canvases and later household objects with polka dots. "A polka dot has the form of the sun, which is a symbol of the energy of the whole world and our living life, and also the form of the moon, which is calm. Round, soft, colourful, senseless and unknowing. Polka dots become movement... Polka dots are a way to infinity." says Kusama.

Now, she is almost in her 80s, and is one of the most influential and widely collected artists of the 1960's and up. Her work is still on display in different exhibitions around the world.

KAT MARKS

Canadian and genious designer Kat Marks designs really creative forms. She says "I have always lived with the intention to create. When looking within myself, I know I'm not seperate from what I create. Each collection, each silhoutte, each fabric has an infrinsic quality perfect for it's use.There are no accidents or coincidences."  She has a conceptual approach to her work and is always looking for the boundaries between art&fashion and film. She mainly focuses on creating body pieces in rigid materials such as plastic that are charactarised by sculptural sensual forms.

She has created two collections so far called Infundibulum;

And Yugas Elder, which was also featured in a film directed by Daniel Shipp and produced by Goran Boskovic.

Now she is creating her third collection that will include ten designs in plastic, leather and textiles.
She also combines fashion and film in her work and she creates videos that feature her thought-provoking pieces. She has just completed a film called The Granfalloon.
